Poppy Coach

coachpoppypurse.JPGThis sweet little thing is the Poppy Pleated Small Hobo, from Coach.

It’s a beautiful design — on this size and style of purse. I’m not quite as enamoured of the poppy design on some of their larger-sized purses, simply because it’s the sort of look that really only works on the small.

The materials and craft are lovely — supple leather, with suede design on the poppy motif and suede lining. The closure is magnetic and the hardware is an unobstrusive nickel.

You have to hand it to Coach — they have really pushed the boat out in terms of creating new and unique purses without straying too far from the classics they’re good at.

A quintessential ’special’ daytime purse from Coach: another must-have.

Coach Butterfly

coach-ipod-shuffle-butterfly.jpgThis beautiful little iPod Shuffle case is from Coach’s current collection of MP3 and PDA holders. It’s a hardy little thing in eggshell blue, with the Coach logo discreetly stamped into the bottom.

This design is far and away the best of the collection — it’s so simple, yet so pretty. Blue case, delicate little butterfly: it’s perfect.

It’s also very sold out, which means there are a lot of women out there who were very happy with at least one of their Christmas gifts.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Coach Conundrum

coach patchwork purseI don’t know what in the holy hell is going over at Coach HQ right now, but this new ‘holiday themed’ purse is like nothing I have ever seen in my life.

Is it interesting and warmly seasonally cute? Or is it just one big mess of a bag? I am on the fence here.

I mean, ok: patchwork, that’s pretty cute. And then you have both patent and nappa leather, and suede, and jacquard fabric, all in the same purse! How many bags can claim the same? I’m guessing none. It’s all cute and buckly and detailed. I love it.

On the other hand: a patchwork purse? What is this, Little House in New York City? Patent leather and nappa leather and suede and jacquard all in the same purse? How many bags can claim the same?

None, because it ends up looking like that. It’s all cute and buckly and detailed, yes, but all I can focus on is a patch of what looks like leopard/giraffe skin on there.

To the lovely, gifted people at Coach — it’s November 1st, for the love of God. Way too early to be hitting the eggnog.

Gym Pretty

coach tote handbagWe’re so busy, us girls today. Rush rush rush from once place to the next, from work to the gym and from the gym to the shops. Well, with all that rushing, it makes life harder to have to keep making pit stops home to change your clothes or grab your gym crap.

That’s where the Coach Tote comes it.

Now, I am not for one moment insinuating that you take a cavalier approach to bag-maintenance — after all, these things cost a pretty penny. It would be nonsensical to be rough with them. But that’s the beauty of tote bags, you can put them through the wringer and they still come out looking damn good.

This pretty beaded tote is from Coach — it comes in a variety of different colors, plus there is a large range of lovely non-beaded totes too. It’s suede and metal, with plenty of inside pockets to keep all your bits and pieces separate (we all have those my-phone-is-ringing-loudly-and-obnoxiously-but-I-can’t-find-it moments).

Practical and pretty — you have to admit that ArmCandy’s recent purse selections have been pretty damn special.

Coach iPod

coach ipod holderFor some strange reason I never noticed till today that Coach do iPod cases — silly really, because quite a few designers have added them to their collection.

This one is called (you guessed it) the Python, it’s new and very retro-cool… I can see these being huge in somewhere where there’s a big punk/alternative scene, like Tokyo.

I know it’s not strictly a purse but it’s definitely fun enough to be added. Here’s an iPod Shuffle one too:

Coach Love

coach metallic pleated hobo purse

Right up there in my top five, Coach will always be a firm favourite.

When it comes to consistent quality and style, you just can’t beat them — among other things, they prove that you don’t have to be ridiculously expensive to be a great label. How many girls bought a Coach bag as their first ‘real’ purse? I’m guessing a hell of a lot.

So what do we have? Everlasting style — Coach bags never go out of fashion! — and wonderful durability. Anyone who owns vintage Coach will tell you about how years and years later the purse is still in great condition — yes, even the inner lining. You can match a Coach bag with near enough anything, totally depending on your mood. And there’s so much to choose from…

Guys, if you want a fail-safe gift option, go for a Coach bag. They just get better and better.

For the people in London, check out Mitsukoshi’s in Piccadilly for a lovely range of Coach — it’s not New York, but this department store is one of London’s best-kept secrets. Go there just to admire.

When all else fails, there will always be Coach. x
