Paddington Lizard
We’re going to start 2006 off with a bang here at ArmCandy by featuring what will undoubtedly be one of the coolest handbags of the year: the Chloe Paddington satchel in metallic lizard.
This is an absolutely stunning purse in every which way — the lizard and leather trim, the silver hardware, the little Chloe hanging key, and of course that lovely Chloe signature padlock.
I’m a huge fan of Chloe and of the Paddington purses in particular, but this one just really stands out — it’s perfect for the season and perfect as a unique, different sort of handbag.
Better get moving if you want one — Paddington bags are becoming notorious for being hard to get hold of and I doubt this one will be any kind of exception.

The Cuteness Of Chloe
Of all the beautiful purses in Chloe’s collection, I bet this is the one you recognise immediately. Right? Like the brown canvas style for Vuitton, or Le Dix for Balenciaga, it’s the coolest girl in the clique, the cream of the crop, the signature piece.
The reason this purse has such a following is evident. Just look at it. Have you ever seen cuter? Gorgeous leather and detailing, plus those four little brass feet for protection, plus that famous Chloe padlock… it’s the perfect size for daytime, just about big enough to hold your stuff without being cumbersome.
The leather is delicious — soft soft soft and it will still be looking lovely years down the line… I have to admit, I actually prefer it to the Le Dix ever so slighty, simply because there aren’t any tassels to worry about.
It’s very unique, very cuddly, very sexy, and very very hard to get hold of (like this red one here). It’s also available with a shoulder strap, if hip-bumping is your style.
Forget kids or pets to love — the Paddington bag is all you need!
Tally-Ho
Winter’s here girls, and that means it’s time for the hats, gloves and scarves to come out.
It also means that it’s time to go for some warmer colours, and that is precisely why this gorgeous bag from Chloe caught my eye.
Rich mulberry red leather with a big strap and canvas lining, with really, really cute brass buckles — in fact the front dock clip there was actually custom-designed and made for Chloe.
The style of the bag itself is the rather unique Ascot saddlebag (much easier to see when the front strap is fully extended). It’s a beautifully made purse, perfect for daytime and perfect for winter.
Cold weather and leather saddlebags — does it get any more charmingly English…?
Chloe-isms
If I were to become a businesswoman — or, you know, pretend to become a businesswoman — I believe I would need some sort of briefcase-y type thing in which to swing around all my important documents and casefiles.
I would spend many an afternoon searching for the *perfect* bag — feminine yet serious enough for the office, something tasteful and *me*. Then I would spot this Chloe bag, and get extremely excited extremely fast. Why? Because it is beautiful, and practical, and weatherproof, and classy… just what I’m looking for, really. It’s almost worth getting a real job for…
As for those boots… what can I say. Gorgeous.
What a team!
My Chloe
There’s a lot to be said for French fashion, and nowhere is their superiority more evident than with the Chloe winter line of shoes and purses.
Chloe has been a long-time favourite - I love the mix of romance and beauty, the unashamed femininity of their designs. Chloe have been around awhile, yet they have done what many other labels fail to do in terms of consistant quality and fresh design.
And they have had a line of designers any fashion house would be proud of — Karl Lagerfeld, Martine Sitbon, and last but not least, our very own Stella McCartney and the ever-lovely Phoebe Philo. They’ve all made the Chloe name what it is today — synonymous with grace and poise, and cutting edge fashion.
I love those purses above because of the mer-princess factor — they look delicate but not weak, with incredible detail (especially that delicious clutch). The purses below are the much-coveted Chloe Paddington style (I love those signature locks). Charming to both the eye and the touch, there are few more gratifying purses to own.
So lovely, so French, so Chloe.
