A Girls Best Friend
I can’t think of anything a little dog would be more at home in than this Pooch Dog Carrier from Lulu Guinness. Traditionally, Louis Vuitton has been the carrier of choice for celebrity dogs, but isn’t this carrier more appropriate for a little doggy?
It’s made of soft, squishy black nylon, with the trademark Lulu Guinness embroidery design and silver hardware. It’s a beautiful little carrier, and for all it lacks in raw luxury, it more than makes up for it in sheer sweetness.
I bet if your little pup had the choice, he would choose the Lulu Guinness over the Louis Vuittons, Aspreys etc any day…

Sexy, Stripey, Spadey
It’s not often you come across a purse that is so… well, <i>stripey</i>. Not just slightly stripey, but gloriously, unashamedly, in-your-face stripey. It’s too lovely to ignore, and so!
We present:
The very stripey, very bold, very very very cute Rugby Stripe Tracy Bucket tote from Kate Spade. It’s made of a soft but durable cotton twill fabric (signature larabee twill) and the inside is lined in an extremely lickable limey green. This tote has a thread closure rather than the traditional magnetic clasp: altogether very Englishwoman in New York.
And it’s so much <i>fun</i>!
Love it.

Too Juicy For My Purse
There are some purse companies that you love immediately. They always have the purse you desperately want, every single purse seems to speak to you personally. It’s a glorious thing.
Then there are the companies that leave you hmmming and haaaing for a while. Perhaps not every purse is to your taste, or the company is a bit <i>too</i> trendy - nobody wants to be carrying the same purse that fifty other women in the supermarket are carrying as well, now do they?
ArmCandy has had this sort of relationship with Juicy Couture — sort of a restrained, distant liking that never really crossed the line into blind desperate coveting. I would like to pronounce that relationship over, with Juicy Couture now being very firmly in the "<i>want</i>" camp.
Because, they just have too much cuteness, and too much quality, at insanely affordable prices — too much downright loveliness to be ignored. There’s no doubt this is a company for very young girls, but with the right attitude, any woman can carry one.
The purse pictured is the English Schoolgirl Terry Baby Fluffy — quite a mouthful, isn’t it?
It’s made of a cotton terry material, with leather handle straps and a cute heart-shaped leather trim mirror attached (because you never know when you might need a heart-shaped mirror in a moment of emergency, right?), rhinestones and charms and flower flaps…
Too Juicy, indeed.

Vuitton Vernis
I like to see designers try new stuff every once in a while — it’s always good to know they’re keeping on their toes and moving with the times. Plus it stops things from getting boring.
This little bag from Louis Vuitton, known rather interestingly as the ‘Sac Maple Drive’, is a nice example of a fasion house dipping its toes in unfamiliarish water. It’s made of a patent leather that looks disarmingly like shiny toffee with a cowhide opening and trim which doubles as a handle.
The hardware is gold, and the leather has the Louis Vuitton monogram stamped all over it: if it weren’t such an expensive snack, I’d certainly try to eat it…

Fendi-licious
This adorable little purse/handbag/ tote/pouch-type-thing is the Selleria Bucket Bag from Fendi.
Made of beautiful Selleria leather, this bag can expand on the sides if you need it to be more roomy. It’s lined with velvet and comes with a Fendi plaque proudly stamped onto the front. The lining is a soft suede and the hardware is all silver.
This is a real leather-lovers purse — it’s made using very old-style craftsmanship with typical Fendi attention to detail.
Also available in gold, but this soft lilac colour is by far the prettier. A gorgeous, unique purse from Fendi.

Simply Marc
There’s nothing particlarly eye-catching about this Marc Jacobs tote — in comparison to the more colourful purses we have been featuring of late, I mean. Sometimes you just have to get back to basics to remember what it’s all about, and that’s why this tote is so perfect.
It’s made of beautiful soft calf leather, with classic brass hardware and twill lining. The inside is (mercifully) divided up into sections so there’s far less digging around trying to find keys or a pen.
Although this purse is sold as a tote, it seems to me to be far more of a shoulder or handle bag — extremely sophisticated and stylish, in a gorgeous chocolatey brown that won’t ever go out of season.
This is a ’staple’ purse — a completely worthy investment.

Pucci Print
This tote from Emilio Pucci has cheered me up no end.
It’s made of a beautifully printed ruched canvas material with leather trim and handles, creamy stitching and lovely sea-themed colours.
It’s bright and kooky and unusual, very bold and very hardy. Really nice for a day at the beach, or just shopping, carrying schoolbooks, gym stuff, anything. It’s a real tote-lovers tote, and just in time for the spring upcoming:a great addition to anyone’s collection.

Paddington Lizard
We’re going to start 2006 off with a bang here at ArmCandy by featuring what will undoubtedly be one of the coolest handbags of the year: the Chloe Paddington satchel in metallic lizard.
This is an absolutely stunning purse in every which way — the lizard and leather trim, the silver hardware, the little Chloe hanging key, and of course that lovely Chloe signature padlock.
I’m a huge fan of Chloe and of the Paddington purses in particular, but this one just really stands out — it’s perfect for the season and perfect as a unique, different sort of handbag.
Better get moving if you want one — Paddington bags are becoming notorious for being hard to get hold of and I doubt this one will be any kind of exception.
